Bageshwar: The land of Lord Bagnath has given the country many athletes. When it comes to cricket, Manish Pandey and Kamlesh Nagarkoti hail from Bageshwar district. Both have illuminated the district’s name with their work. Manish Pandey was the first Indian player to score a century in the IPL. Kamlesh Nagarkoti impressed everyone with his speed in the 2018 Under-19 World Cup. Bageshwar has not only produced cricketers but also a football player named Rohit Danu.

Rohit Danu’s Rising Football Career

Rohit Danu has played for the Indian Under-14, Under-15, Under-16, and Under-17 teams and is currently a member of the Indian Under-19 team. The center forward Rohit has impressed many with his game. His brother Himanshu Danu has also made a name for himself as a football player in Haldwani. In 2017, Rohit Danu, a resident of Surajkund in Bageshwar, was selected for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup. Rohit was groomed by his coach Neeraj Pandey.

Guidance and Support from Coaches

Thanks to his guru, the disciple Rohit is making a name for himself across the country. Rohit Danu is also a part of the Indian Super League, with Hyderabad FC having signed him. Rohit credits his success to coach Neeraj Pandey. He also mentioned that Bageshwar’s football player Dhirendra Parihar has provided significant support.

Early Struggles and Family Support

Rohit Danu’s struggle began at the age of 10. Fortunately for Rohit, he received support from his family from the beginning. His father, Pratap Singh Danu, and mother, Ganga Danu, left no stone unturned to help their son’s dreams take flight. A talent needs recognition, which Rohit received from his family at a young age. After that, Rohit’s magic began to show in football.

Early Success and Future Aspirations

At just 13 years old, Rohit made it to the Uttarakhand football team. In his very first match, he showcased his magical skills, earning opportunities to play abroad. All of Uttarakhand hopes that Rohit will shine overseas with his game and pave the way for young Indians to pursue careers in football.
