Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has announced a major relief for state pensioners and family pensioners by removing the deadline for the pension revision process. This move will benefit pensioners who have not yet been able to get their pensions revised. The state government has simplified the necessary formalities for pensioners and family pensioners with this step.
Deadline Removed
Director of the Treasury, Pension, and Entitlements Department of Uttarakhand, Mr. Dinesh Chandra Lohani, informed that pensioners can now submit the pension revision form to the respective treasury officer or sub-treasury officer through their department. Earlier, the deadline for pension revision was set for September 30, 2023, but as per the government letter issued on September 3, 2024, this deadline has now been entirely removed.
Adhering to the 2018 Order
According to the government order issued in 2018, the pension of state pensioners and family pensioners was to be revised in accordance with the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, effective from January 1, 2016. This process was to be prepared online and certified by the DDO and then sent to the treasury. The initial deadline for this was set for March 31, 2019, which was subsequently extended to September 30, 2023.
Relief for Pensioners
This decision will benefit those pensioners who, for various reasons, were unable to get their pensions revised on time. Now, they can complete the process without any deadline. Pensioners are required to submit the revision form to the treasury through their respective departments, ensuring they receive the necessary updates in their pension. This step has been taken in the interest of pensioners to prevent any inconvenience caused by the previous deadlines.

State pensioners and their families have welcomed this decision by the government. This move will provide financial security and help in the smooth completion of the pension revision process in the future.
