Dehradun:- Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s initiative to transform Uttarakhand into a prominent tourism state is making significant progress. On September 27, the Ministry of Tourism will honor four villages from the state with the Best Tourism Village Award on International Tourism Day during a ceremony to be held in New Delhi.
This year, in the national-level Best Tourism Village competition organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Jakhol village has been selected for adventure tourism, Harsil and Gungi villages for Vibrant Village status, and Supi village in Nainital district for agricultural tourism. This award symbolizes the state’s commitment to promoting rural tourism and preserving its culture and natural heritage.
Chief Minister Dhami praised the efforts of all the villagers and congratulated them. He stated, “The role of the common public is crucial in the development of tourism in the state. The government is implementing several plans to establish Uttarakhand as a tourism state, but public cooperation is essential for achieving this goal.”
Through this award, not only will tourism in the state be promoted, but it will also aid in the preservation of local culture and lifestyles. Such initiatives are set to strengthen Uttarakhand’s position on the tourism map even further.
