Dehradun, October 2025: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the Diwali Fair organized by the International Vaishya Mahasammelan on GMS Road, Dehradun. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister extended his warm wishes for the upcoming festival of Diwali and paid tribute to Maharaja Agrasen Ji, describing the festival as a medium of spreading light, positivity, and goodness in life.
CM Dhami appreciated the Vaishya community for its longstanding contribution to India’s social, cultural, and economic fabric. He said, “The Vaishya community has always upheld the ideals of Sanatan culture, spreading cooperation, harmony, and development across society. It has played a vital role in protecting religion and promoting social welfare.” He also praised the International Vaishya Mahasammelan for promoting trade, encouraging the use of Swadeshi products, and preserving local traditions and unity through this fair.
Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, CM Dhami said initiatives like ‘Vocal for Local’, ‘Make in India’, and ‘Startup India’ are laying a strong foundation for a self-reliant India. “Our government has implemented several important policies in line with these national visions, ensuring holistic development in Uttarakhand,” he added. The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s firm stand against illegal encroachments, noting that over 9,000 acres of government land had been reclaimed and 550 illegal shrines removed as part of this effort.
Urging citizens to embrace indigenous goods, CM Dhami said, “By using Swadeshi products, we not only empower our artisans, farmers, and entrepreneurs but also strengthen the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Let us adopt the mantra—‘Swadeshi Apnao, Desh Ko Majboot Banao’.” He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to making Uttarakhand a leading state under the vision of “Vikalp Rahit Sankalp” (resolution without alternative). He expressed confidence that the Vaishya community would continue to work hand in hand with the government to achieve the shared goal of a developed and prosperous Uttarakhand.
