Champawat District Foundation Day: CM Dhami Inaugurates Geo-Spatial Dashboard and Launches Women Empowerment Initiative

Champawat: On the occasion of Champawat District Foundation Day, a simple yet significant event was organized at the District Headquarters. The main event took place at the District Collectorate auditorium, where Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated virtually.

During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated the ‘Adarsh Champawat Geo-Spatial Dashboard’ and launched the Women Technology Center, operated by UCOST. He extended his greetings to all the district residents on this special day and fondly remembered former MLA Kailash Gehtori. The Chief Minister also highlighted Champawat’s rich religious and historical significance.

Chief Minister’s Commitment to Champawat’s Development

The Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to making Champawat one of the leading districts in the country. He outlined several key projects currently underway in the district, including parking facilities, bus terminals, road improvements, tourism development, and advancements in education and healthcare. He assured that these efforts would lead to comprehensive development in Champawat in the near future. The CM emphasized that projects such as the Golju Corridor, Sharda College Corridor, Reetha-Devidhura Master Plan, and Champawat-Lohaghat Master Plan would transform the district’s trajectory. He further stated that the Adarsh Champawat model would serve as an example for other Himalayan states.

Expressing his grief over the recent natural disasters that impacted the state, the CM appealed to people to dedicate his birthday to helping those affected by the calamity. He urged everyone to contribute to the relief efforts for disaster victims.

Empowering 1000 Women through the Women Technology Center

UCOST Director General, Professor Durgesh Pant, announced that the Women Technology Center in Champawat would empower 1,000 women by providing them with self-employment training. This initiative aims to create opportunities for women to become self-reliant and contribute to the local economy.District Magistrate Navneet Pandey extended his congratulations to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on the occasion of the Champawat District Foundation Day and praised his continuous efforts for the district’s development. He mentioned that out of the 240 announcements made by the Chief Minister, most have already been fulfilled.

ISRO’s Contribution to Champawat’s Development

ISRO scientist Dr. Harish Karnatak, along with other experts, provided detailed insights into the Champawat Geo-Spatial Dashboard. They explained how the dashboard would boost agricultural and horticultural production by offering key geographical data about the region’s capabilities and conditions. This tool would be invaluable for understanding the area’s geographical potential and maximizing production.

Public Support Key to Making Champawat an Ideal District

Several speakers shared their thoughts on the district’s development, emphasizing the need for cooperation from all Champawat residents to turn it into an ideal district. They also praised the district’s anti-drug campaigns and stressed the importance of continuing this fight collectively. In attendance were BJP District President Nirmal Singh Mehra, Block Chief Rekha Devi, Superintendent of Police Ajay Ganpati, and other notable figures.

The speakers unanimously agreed that with the collective effort of everyone, Champawat could be transformed into a model district, setting an example for the entire state of Uttarakhand and beyond.
