District Magistrate Takes Immediate Action on Issues Raised by ASHA Workers, Resolves Most Grievances on the Spot

Dehradun :- District Magistrate (DM) Savin Bansal took prompt action on the grievances of ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers by inviting them to the Rishiparna Auditorium. He patiently listened to their concerns and resolved most of their issues on the spot.

The DM first decided that the monthly mobile recharge allowance provided to the ASHA workers would be directly transferred to their bank accounts. Additionally, to facilitate smooth payment processes and coordination, he instructed that an ASHA representative be stationed at the payment counters of the District Hospital and Doon Medical College, ensuring there are no payment-related issues. Upon learning about the pending payments of the ASHA workers, the DM immediately contacted the Mission Director of NHM (National Health Mission) over the phone, setting a deadline for budget allocation. He assured that all pending payments would be processed within this week.

To address the challenges faced by ASHA workers in admitting pregnant women to Doon Medical College, a committee has been formed. This committee includes the Additional Chief Medical Officer, Medical Superintendent, Medical Superintendent of Doon Medical College, and an ASHA Facilitator. DM Savin Bansal emphasized that no hindrance should occur in the functioning of health services in the district, and he instructed officials to ensure that any difficulties faced by field employees are addressed promptly.

The ASHA workers expressed their gratitude to the DM for his swift decisions and the effective resolution of their problems. They also assured that they would continue to perform their duties with full responsibility.The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr. Nidhi Rawat, other officials from the Health Department, the Provincial President of ASHA workers, Shiva Dubey, and other prominent ASHA workers.
