Dussehra Celebrated with Grandeur at Parade Ground, CM Dhami Stresses Cultural and Spiritual Preservation

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Dussehra festival celebrations held at the Parade Ground today. Addressing thousands of attendees, the Chief Minister extended his greetings on the occasion of Dussehra. He stated that Dussehra symbolizes the victory of truth over falsehood, righteousness over unrighteousness, and justice over injustice. The festival is an integral part of India’s cultural heritage, reminding people of the virtues embodied in the life of Lord Shri Ram.

Inspiration to Follow the Path of Truth and Righteousness

In his speech, CM Dhami highlighted that the arrogance of Ravana led to the destruction of Lanka, teaching a lesson in humility and the importance of following the path of truth. He added that Lord Shri Ram is a symbol of sacrifice, devotion, and duty, whose exemplary life inspires people to uphold their principles, even in adverse situations. He emphasized that Dussehra is not just a celebration but also an opportunity to pledge to eliminate inner vices and walk the path of truth and humanity.

Commitment to Protecting Ramayana Heritage

The Chief Minister emphasized the cultural significance of places in Uttarakhand linked to the Ramayana. He mentioned that Lord Hanuman brought the Sanjeevani herb from Dronagiri in Chamoli, and the ashram of Sage Vashistha is located in Rishikesh. CM Dhami praised the construction of the grand Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya as a revival of cultural values and announced the upcoming construction of a Uttarakhand state guest house there. Additionally, he informed that the Paulgarh Wildlife Sanctuary has been renamed “Sitavani Wildlife Sanctuary” in honor of Goddess Sita. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to preserving Uttarakhand’s spiritual and cultural essence, the Chief Minister warned that any attempt to alter the state’s demographic balance would not be tolerated. Prominent attendees included Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, MP Naresh Bansal, and MLAs Khajan Das and Savita Kapoor, among others.
