Industry Meeting in Dehradun: Agreements Signed to Boost Uttarakhand’s Exports

Dehradun: The Department of Commerce, Government of India, organized an industry interaction meeting in Dehradun to expand the foundation of exports. The primary goal of this meeting was to unlock and enhance Uttarakhand’s export potential. It facilitated constructive dialogue among officials from the Government of India, the Government of Uttarakhand, industry leaders, and policymakers to promote exports across various sectors.

Strengthening Partnerships

The meeting aimed to address the current challenges faced by stakeholders, identify new opportunities for export growth, and develop a thriving export ecosystem in the state. Uttarakhand, known for its rich agricultural, industrial, and service sectors, is ready to play a crucial role in achieving India’s export targets.

Several Agreements Signed

During the meeting, several agreements were signed to promote Uttarakhand’s agricultural export landscape. Notably, House of Himalayas Limited and the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) collaborated to improve packaging standards for Uttarakhand’s products to meet international demands. An agreement was also made between House of Himalayas Limited and Lulu Group, aiming to promote high-quality agricultural and processed food products from the Himalayan region through Lulu Hypermarkets’ extensive retail network, thereby enhancing the livelihoods of local farmers and artisans.

The event saw the presence of key dignitaries, including Chief Guest Shri Sunil Barthwal, Commerce Secretary, Government of India, along with Shri Ramesh Kumar Sudhanshu, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand; Smt. Radhika Jha, Secretary of Rural Development, Government of Uttarakhand; Shri R.K. Mishra, Director of the Indian Institute of Packaging; and Shri Abhishek Dev, IAS, Chairman of APEDA.
