Dehradun: Mrs. Swati S. Bhadauria, Mission Director of the National Health Mission, held a review meeting today at the National Health Mission auditorium in Dehradun. During this meeting, she participated in a two-day district review meeting of Chief Medical Officers under the various programs operated by NHM. She instructed the officials to work at war footing to improve the quality of health services.
Emphasis on Monitoring Construction Works
The Mission Director directed all Chief Medical Officers to monitor the progress of approved construction works under the action plan of the National Health Mission in Uttarakhand. She emphasized the need to hold regular meetings with the implementing agencies to monitor progress and quality. Additionally, she stressed that the tasks should be completed on time as per the M.O.U. and handed over to the department to ensure they can be effectively operated for public welfare.
Importance of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme
Mrs. Bhadauria highlighted the significance of the Prime Minister’s Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) and instructed to monitor the progress and quality of ongoing construction works. She called for accelerating the construction of Critical Care Blocks (CCBs), District Integrated Public Health Labs (DIPHLs), and Block Public Health Units (BPHUs). Moreover, she directed that the completed BPHUs be operationalized promptly.
Focus on Human Resources and Awareness Programs
During the meeting, the need to fill the vacant positions in human resources was emphasized. The Mission Director directed the examination of the number of health personnel, their training, and deployment status across all districts. She also stressed the necessity to evaluate the promotion and effectiveness of health awareness programs. Other officials and staff present at the meeting included Dr. Narendra Sharma, Dr. Manu Jain, and Dr. Trupti Bahuguna.
