Dehradun: On October 3, 2024, the Honorable Chief Justice of the High Court inaugurated the Nyaya Mitra Helpline. This ceremony was graced by the presence of the Honorable Senior Judge, Executive Chairman and Member Secretary of the State Legal Services Authority, Nainital, Honorable Assembly Speaker Mrs. Ritu Khanduri, and Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand Mrs. Radha Raturi. This helpline is a significant initiative aimed at providing legal assistance to citizens.
Benefits of the Digital Platform
The Nyaya Mitra Helpline includes a Nyaya Mitra portal and mobile application, through which the citizens of Uttarakhand will be able to receive free legal assistance. Additionally, they will have the facility to register their cases in permanent Lok Adalats. This portal and mobile application are being developed under the guidance of the Chief Secretary with the assistance of ITDA, and they will be made available to the public in the next two months.
Resolution of Government Complaints
Through the Nyaya Mitra Helpline, citizens can not only seek assistance in legal matters but also register complaints related to various government departments. These complaints will be forwarded to the CM Helpline portal for quick resolution. This initiative is a crucial step towards bringing the citizens of Uttarakhand closer to justice and administration, contributing significantly to the state’s digital empowerment and transparency in public service. District judges from all districts, Director of ITDA Mrs. Nitika Khandelwal, and State Nodal Officer of the CM portal Ms. Aarti Balodi were also present on this occasion.
