24 Hours Registration Facility Announced for Char Dham Yatra 2026 in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand News: Char Dham Yatra: Pilgrimage registration: 24 Hour registration facility: In a major administrative move aimed at making the upcoming Char Dham Yatra 2026 smoother and more pilgrim-friendly, district officials in Dehradun have announced that registration counters will be open 24 hours a day at key locations. The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting under the leadership of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, who has directed all departments to complete all preparations well before the pilgrimage season begins.

Administrative Preparations and Deadlines

The pilgrims’ registration exercise is a vital part of the state’s management strategy for the yatra, which attracts millions of devotees every year. Officials have been instructed that all arrangements, including roads, medical assistance, sanitation, parking, traffic planning, and security must be finalized by April 15, 2026. This preparation window ensures that the necessary infrastructure and services are in place ahead of the official start of the yatra in April.

Extensive 24 Hours Registration Counters

To facilitate the large number of devotees expected during Char Dham 2026, the administration will set up 30 registration counters in Rishikesh and 20 in Vikasnagar, where pilgrims can complete registration at any time of day. In addition to permanent counters, mobile registration teams will also be deployed along the pilgrimage routes to assist devotees who may need help registering while traveling. This effort is aimed at reducing congestion and ensuring that no pilgrim faces inconvenience due to limited counter hours.

Officials have also stressed the importance of crowd management and safety.
