Dehradun: A multi-purpose camp was organized under the leadership of District Magistrate Savin Bansal in the remote rural area of Bhauwala, Dehradun, where the local MLA Sahdev Singh Pundir was also present. The camp addressed the long-standing problems of the residents on the spot, with 330 complaints received, most of which were resolved immediately. Various departments set up stalls at the camp to provide information about their welfare schemes and offered benefits directly to the eligible beneficiaries. During the camp, 58 old-age pension and 40 disability pension applications were approved, and wheelchairs and walking sticks were distributed to those in need.
The camp resolved issues such as water supply problems, errors in revenue records, assistance for people with disabilities, and various agricultural concerns. Lalit Chamoli from Bhagwanpur, who had been facing water problems for a long time, had his issue resolved by the officers of the Water Institute on the spot. Similarly, Vachaspati Mandola from Bhagwanpur Rajawala, who had been running from pillar to post to correct errors in revenue records, had his issue resolved promptly by the District Magistrate. Additionally, a wheelchair was provided to Dinesh Singh Rana’s differently-abled son. The Agriculture Department distributed agricultural tools, flour mills, power weeders, and rear winders to the farmers. Health checkups were conducted for 105 people, and hundreds of Aadhaar and Ayushman cards were made on the spot.
This multi-purpose camp embodied the concept of “Government at Your Doorstep,” where the District Magistrate, along with officials from various departments, ensured that welfare schemes reached the public directly. Departments related to animal husbandry, health, agriculture, women’s empowerment, and employment provided information and essential services to those in need. The camp also honored a group of five children who presented cultural programs, which added a sense of pride among the community members, who expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the District Magistrate.
