This youth led festival aims to make the scenic Himalayan foothills a vibrant hub of tourism, sports, arts and community heritage activities. The event is being organised by the Tehri Garhwal district administration in collaboration with the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board.

According to officials, the 2026 edition of the Tehri Lake Festival will not be restricted to the lakefront alone. Activities will also be held at key tourist destinations across the district, transforming well known and offbeat locations into centres of festival activity. The festival tagline Breath the Himalayas reflects the organisers focus on celebrating the natural beauty and freedom of the mountains while encouraging visitors to explore local heritage and landscapes.

A wide range of competitions and interactive experiences are planned during the four day event.
