Uttarakhand shines as five district magistrates make it to Top 100 Best DMs list of India

Uttarakhand News, Nainital DM, Best District Magistrates: Five district magistrates from Uttarakhand have earned national recognition for their administrative work. In the preliminary list released by Fame India Magazine and Asia Post for the year 2026, five officers from the state have been included in the Top 100 Best District Magistrates 2026 list.

After evaluating district magistrates and deputy commissioners working across nearly 800 districts of the country, the list included Lalit Mohan Rayal, Nitin Singh Bhadauria, Prashant Arya, Mayur Dixit and Vishal Mishra from Uttarakhand.

Nainital DM Lalit Mohan Rayal receives special recognition

Among the selected officers, Nainital District Magistrate Lalit Mohan Rayal has received special attention for his effective administrative style and public welfare focused decisions. His inclusion among the top district magistrates of Uttarakhand is being considered a proud achievement for the district.

The assessment conducted by Fame India and Asia Post was based on several parameters including administrative leadership, implementation of welfare schemes, innovation, transparency, disaster management, law and order and public interaction.

Officials selected in the preliminary list will now be considered for the final selection of the top 25 officers. The final list will be published in the June 2026 edition of Fame India Magazine.

Achievement seen as positive sign for governance in Uttarakhand

The achievement of these Uttarakhand officers is being viewed as a positive sign for good governance and better administration in the state. In Nainital, public representatives, social organisations and local residents expressed happiness over the recognition received by DM Lalit Mohan Rayal and called it a proud moment for the district.
