CM Dhami: Rakshabandhan: Uttarakhand Roadways: On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced a major gift for the women of the state. On August 28 and 29, women in Uttarakhand will be able to travel for free with a 100% fare exemption on buses operated by the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation within the state.
The Uttarakhand government has issued an order directing the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation to ensure the necessary arrangements. According to the order, women in the state will not have to pay any fare for travel on Uttarakhand Transport Corporation buses on August 28 and 29.
Initiative to Facilitate Women’s Travel
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a large number of women travel to visit their parental homes and relatives. Through this initiative by the state government, they will have access to safe, convenient, and free public transport. The government’s objective is to make travel easier for women during the festival and provide them with financial relief.
Government to Reimburse Costs Incurred from Free Travel
In this regard, Reena Joshi, Additional Secretary (Administration), has clarified in a government order that the State Government will reimburse the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation for the financial burden incurred due to the provision of free travel facilities for women. The Transport Department has directed the Corporation to ensure immediate and necessary action in accordance with the government order.
