MBBS Intern Stipend Hiked in Uttarakhand, Dhami Cabinet Approves 10 Key Proposals

Uttarakhand: Cabinet: Medical Intern: A meeting of the state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, was held in Dehradun on Friday. A total of 10 proposals concerning various departments were approved during the meeting. Following the meeting, Bansidhar Tiwari, Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister, briefed the press on the cabinet’s decisions.

The cabinet granted permission to table the annual report of the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC) in the Legislative Assembly. Additionally, a proposal to create the post of Additional Director within the Uttarakhand Prison Reform Department was approved.

The cabinet also accepted the report of the committee constituted to revise the fee structure for government advocates. Furthermore, a proposal regarding direct recruitment posts under the Food Department’s reform program was discussed.

Hike in MBBS Intern Stipend

During the cabinet meeting, a decision was made to increase the monthly stipend of MBBS interns who had been agitating across five government medical colleges, from ₹17,000 to ₹25,000. This decision is expected to provide relief to students undergoing internships at these medical colleges.

Benefits for Sports Talent

Thirty-five posts of Physical Education Teachers, originally under the Education Department, have been sanctioned for the Sports Department. It was decided to reserve these posts for medal-winning athletes. Additionally, over 200 posts have been sanctioned across various departments to facilitate “out-of-turn” appointments under the Sports Policy-2021.

Land Transfer for Mussoorie Ropeway Project

The cabinet approved a proposal for land transfer related to the Mussoorie Ropeway project, currently under construction at Purukulgaon. This move also paves the way for the construction of the Garhwal Sabha building.

ESI Hospital to be Built in Haridwar

The cabinet approved a proposal to construct an ESI Hospital in Haridwar under the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). This initiative is expected to provide healthcare benefits to employees of the industrial sector and their families. Additionally, various programs will be organized on September 17 as part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. Through these events, the government will focus on public service and on taking departmental schemes to the people.
