Uttarakhand: Ankita Bhandari Case: The court once again rejected the bail pleas of all the accused in the Ankita Bhandari murder case today. The accused failed to secure any relief due to the strong and effective arguments presented by the state government. This reaffirms that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, stands firmly committed to securing justice for Ankita and ensuring the strictest possible punishment for the guilty under the law.

The sentencing of the guilty to life imprisonment in the Ankita Bhandari murder case stands as proof that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government acted with utmost seriousness and resolve from the very first day through to the final court verdict to ensure the perpetrators received severe punishment for this sensitive case.

Following the incident, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami immediately ordered strict action. Within 24 hours, the accused were sent to jail, and an SIT was constituted to conduct a fair and thorough investigation into the matter. Action was also taken against the accused under the Gangster Act.

During the investigation, a detailed charge sheet spanning approximately 500 pages was prepared, incorporating crucial evidence including the statements of around 100 witnesses. The prosecution vigorously argued the case in court, leading to the repeated rejection of the accused’s bail applications and ensuring they remained behind bars throughout the trial. As a result of the robust investigation and effective prosecution, Ankita’s killers were ultimately sentenced to life imprisonment.

The state government accorded the highest priority to the sentiments of Ankita’s parents and family throughout the entire process. Government counsel were changed three times in accordance with the family’s wishes. Furthermore, when Ankita’s parents demanded a CBI inquiry, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami respected their sentiments and ordered a CBI investigation into the case.

The government provided financial assistance of ₹25 lakh to support the family. Additionally, it fulfilled its commitment to stand by the family by providing jobs to the late Ankita’s brother and father.

Throughout this entire episode, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami maintained a clear stance from day one: no matter how influential the offender might be, they would be brought to justice and handed the strictest possible punishment. Amidst questions raised regarding the investigation, the inquiry process was deemed satisfactory at the judicial level as well, and a robust prosecution ensured that the guilty were punished.

Meanwhile, individuals from the Congress and other organizations also attempted to sow confusion among the public by repeatedly raising questions regarding the so-called ‘VIP’ aspect. If anyone possessed concrete facts or evidence in this regard, it should have been presented before the investigative agencies and the court. Making allegations outside the courtroom for political gain and misleading the public is not a fight for justice; rather, it is the politicization of a highly sensitive case involving Ankita.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made it clear from the very first day that securing justice for Ankita was the government’s top priority. From swift arrests, an SIT investigation, a robust charge sheet, and action under the Gangster Act to opposing bail for the accused, modifying prosecution arrangements in line with the family’s wishes, providing financial aid and employment, and even ordering a CBI probe at the parents’ request, the government took decisions with both sensitivity and determination at every stage.

In the fight to secure justice for Ankita, the Dhami government did not limit itself to mere assurances; instead, it stood by the family, backing its support with concrete action, robust legal advocacy, and decisive results.
