Haldwani:- The daily routine of children of modern times is completely opposite to that of old times. Where, in earlier times, children were seen rolling in the mud and jumping in the fields. At the same time, in today’s time, children remain confined to their homes and just stare at mobile phones and TV. Haldwani resident Vinay Asthana is working to change this bad routine.
In fact, Vinay Asthana, who has been living and working in Haldwani for the last ten years, is inspiring today’s children to stay closer to the soil and away from mobile phones. For this he has also found a very innovative method. Vinay Asthana is connecting children with pottery through his company QuestEd. Yes, with their help you can make earthen pots sitting at home. You can also sow the seeds of better upbringing in your children.
It is noteworthy that when Vinay Asthana lost his job in March last year, he decided to open his own company (QuestEd). Vinay says that after seeing the daily life of modern day children, he always wanted to work in this direction. However, through the company, Vinay taught various subjects to children in many schools.
But due to the increasing impact of Corona, schools were closed. Then a new idea for the salvation of children came to Vinay’s mind. Vinay says that he has always been thinking of connecting children with the soil. He says that in childhood, our generation used to make different types of things by themselves during festivals. It is worth noting that in olden times, houses were decorated on Diwali by making fringes themselves.Apart from this, in earlier times, children used to play clay games on the streets. But in today’s time children do not want to go out of the house.
In which parents being busy with themselves is also a big reason. Vinay has found a way to attract children towards his culture through pottery.Vinay has an electric potter wheel available for making earthen pots. Which he is sending to people’s homes on demand. There is no charge for sending the machine home. Along with this, he is also providing clay for making utensils for free. If you want, along with the machine, you can also get a course in making utensils from them.
Vinay Asthana, working in a team of five people, says that trainers will be contacted from Mumbai and Delhi to conduct the course. Vinay says that with this wheel there will be a connection with the soil. Like old times, family members will leave mobile phones and TV and come closer to each other.
It is noteworthy that such activities are becoming very important to keep children away from modern electronic devices. This effort of Vinay to connect children with culture like in olden times is really commendable. The special thing is that by doing this activity at home, we will also get an idea of the hard work of the potter.
