Almora cultural event, Umesh Doval memorial, Uttarakhand journalism: The 33rd Umesh Doval Memorial Award programme will begin in Almora from March 24 with full preparations completed by the organizing committee. The two day event will be held at the District Panchayat Auditorium in Dharanaula and will bring together journalists, social workers and intellectuals from across the region. The programme is organized every year in memory of Umesh Doval who is remembered as a symbol of people centric journalism and public struggles.
Cultural Procession to Mark the Opening
The programme will commence with a cultural procession starting from Gandhi Park at around 11 am on March 24. The procession will showcase local culture traditions and public participation creating a vibrant beginning to the event. After the procession the main venue will host discussions and activities focused on social and journalistic issues.
