A Startup by Three Friends Works Wonders
Three friends from Uttarakhand have created a doll that plays mountain music so that anyone who buys it can learn about Uttarakhand. We are talking about the “Junyali Doll.” This is the first product of the company Fyoli & Pines and is available on many online stores. The company was started by Deep Negi, Pankaj Adhikari, and Akbir Adhikari, residents of Tehri Garhwal. The three friends designed the dolls in such a way that Uttarakhand’s name comes to mind as soon as one sees them. The doll not only features mountain songs but also wears traditional Uttarakhandi attire. You can find the Junyali Doll with traditional dress, mountain hat, basket, and the traditional dupatta (pichhora). Started in 2019, this venture is progressing rapidly and gaining recognition. Local people have supported them in designing it.
What is Junyali? How Did This Name Originate?
In Uttarakhand, the moon is called “Jun.” The moonlight is referred to as “Junyali.” Moonlit nights are called “Junyali nights,” meaning nights with moonlight. “Junyali” also means very beautiful. These young entrepreneurs named the first dancing doll of Uttarakhand ‘Junyali.’
Deep Negi Shares His Thoughts
The idea for Junyali first came to Deep Negi while he was working in Dubai. In a phone interview with thebetteruttarakhand.com, he shared that he has been living in Dubai since 2009. As a writer, he always had a curiosity to do something new. He wanted to do something that would also illuminate the name of his homeland, Devbhoomi. They launched the first doll in 2019. Deep Negi says that even while living in Dubai, he is very close to this work. He mentioned that he is the eldest brother in the family. After graduating, he moved to Dubai. The main operations of his company are conducted from Tehri Garhwal and Delhi. They are gradually advancing in this field and trying to provide employment opportunities to the youth of the mountains.
