Uttarakhand Agriculture, Pushkar Singh Dhami, Farmer News: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to develop one village from every development block as an ideal village in the field of agriculture and horticulture. The instructions were given during a meeting of the Uttarakhand Agricultural Produce Marketing Board.
The Chief Minister said that the rural economy would be strengthened through local resources, traditional knowledge and modern farming techniques
Study of climate and land conditions to guide farming
CM Dhami asked officials to study the climate, land and geographical conditions of every region to identify which crops, fruits or vegetables can produce better results in those areas.
He also instructed the Agriculture Board to prepare a detailed action plan for the next three years with special focus on increasing farmers income, reducing farming costs and improving production.
During the meeting, special emphasis was laid on promoting oilseed crops including mustard, sesame, sunflower and soybean. Officials were directed to provide farmers with improved seeds, fertilisers and modern agricultural technologies.
Push for renewable energy and digital market access
The Chief Minister also stressed promoting biogas plants and solar powered pumps in farming activities. He directed officials to provide training and facilities to farmers so they can sell their produce through digital platforms as well.
Several officials including Anil Kumar Dabbu were present during the meeting.
